Meshi — Privacy Policy

Overview

Meshi is a recipe management and meal planning app for iOS. It is designed as a client for self-hosted Mealie servers. Your privacy is important to us, and Meshi is built with that principle at its core.

Data Collection

By default, Meshi does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. An optional, opt-in analytics feature is available — see the Analytics section below. Unless you choose to enable this, no data of any kind leaves your device except to your own Mealie server.

Network Communication

Meshi connects exclusively to the Mealie server instance that you configure within the app. All recipe and meal plan data is exchanged directly between your device and your own server. No data is sent to us or to any third-party services unless you have opted in to analytics (see below).

Data Storage

Recipe and meal plan data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData for offline access. This data is synchronised with your Mealie server when a connection is available. We have no access to any of this data.

Analytics (Optional, Opt-In)

Meshi includes an optional analytics feature powered by TelemetryDeck. This feature is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled by you in the app's settings.

If you choose to enable analytics, anonymised usage signals (such as which features are used and how often) are sent to TelemetryDeck to help us understand how the app is being used and improve it over time. TelemetryDeck is designed for privacy-first analytics: data is hashed and anonymised before transmission and is never used for advertising or sold to third parties.

You can enable or disable analytics at any time in Settings → Privacy. Disabling analytics immediately stops all data transmission to TelemetryDeck.

Third-Party Services

Meshi does not integrate with any advertising, tracking, or social media services. The only optional third-party integration is TelemetryDeck analytics, which is opt-in and described above.

Children's Privacy

Meshi does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The optional analytics feature uses anonymised, non-personal signals only.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy is updated, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date. As Meshi does not collect contact information, we are unable to notify users directly of changes.
